This painting started as a geometric style artwork, combined with the more romantic whimsical art nouveau style. Somehow the contrast of opposites attract always appeals to me. The natural world aspect, as hummingbirds and crane actually developed along the way, as i noticed my craving for more surreal fairytale like facets. As often happens in my work, it started living a life of it's own. The emerald green metalic sparkles in the hummingbirds, just called out for pearls and gold trimmings. With her metalic rainbow mosaic appearance, she has a slightly bohemian sense about her. So i decided for the finishing touch, a few warrior feathers should not be missing, to complete this striking goddess.
